- Dont forget a 60-year old might say as 20 years and can have sweet chat with millions of promises for several months.
- If you really have found something realistic and interesting and then try estabilish non-virtual contacts with them.
- There may lies on the eyes... there may lies in the ears... but study, think, analyse and interact in person until you get satisfied upto your knowledge.
- And dont forget the pains people had before with effect if virtual chats. Be cautious.

Net friends are like God, u know they exist but u cant be with them.
So the question should not be Trusting a net frineds, the question should be when to trust a net friend... and thats something which u need to decide for yourself.

hmm this is an interesting question. Imo you should not fully trust them, because you dont really know them, you cant tell that the person is really the one he/she tells you.
Chatting is a fun way to spend your time, but I'd never tell them my adress, phone number, and such info...
Call me paranoid if you wish, but I have heard stories, when it turned out that the 16 yr old girl was actually a 50 yr old guy:(

im my case you cant really trust them' For example thy might tell you their 15 and work in a supermarket or watever but they might be 30 and be a criminal. in my opinion u cant really trust any one in chat cause u never know if their telling the truth about themselves.

you should not trust them!!!
coz one of my net friends used to report against me and she was the reason of my suspension from yahoo answers !!!
i will never forgive her for that ,she was a cheat !!

You learn to read people..I happen to be a good personality reader..You don't just take what anybody tells you..Don't believe people just like that...Every sentence the type online,you take them make your analysis..and for sure you will find out if they are genuine or not....Learn to read people..That is my advice...

in the beginning, trust them enough to chat.. and email..
in the middle if you still keep contact, trust them if they reply u fast adn do not talk dirty.. hahaha

I think that depends on the person and how long you have known them. Always meet in a public place first if you are meeting. :)
