Well they are techically using 2 7950 GX2s. It is 2 boards put together to look like 1 huge dual layered one. It uses a crap load of connectors and transmiters. It is quite simple, just don't think of how Geforce made the 7950 GX2
making the quad SLI is accually just connecting the 2 7950 GX2s together using 2 connectors unlike the 1 that is usually used.
THe 1st SLI bridge connects the top card of the first 7950 and the top of the 2nd 7950, and same with the 2nd SLI bridge, except its for the bottom. Quad SLI is not yet availible in stores yet, but the products used for it are.
There is a simple way of thinking of this. It is just like the Intel board called Quad Royal. It is 4 PCI 16x slots for 4 video cards. The Quad SLI is exactly like that, its just 2 boards on 1 slot. the 2 boards are not accually connected. its just placed on so you need the 2 SLI bridges to connect all of them. THe Quad SLI may seem new to everyone, but it has accally been availible to Intel users for the past 1 and a half years.
