Umm I think the last post described a manager, not a leader.
A leader looks at a ladder against a wall, and then asks the person working if they feel safe using it and if they have any questions/concerns/ideas about the job.
A manager says - how fast can you go up that ladder?
A leader cares about their people. A leader listens to the people they lead. A leader is firm, flexible, and compassionate. A leader is trustworthy, empathetic, honest, and more.

Leadership is action - Not position.

What I expect from a leader.

A leader is a person who makes way to much money for doing little to nothing.

A leader requires the intelligence and hard work of others to make themselves look good.

A leader benefits from the labors of others and gives them self a huge bonus while cutting the jobs and pay of the people that work for them.

A leader takes the credit for everything that is good and hands out the blame for everything that is bad.

A leader is the person whom you say one bad thing about and you pay dearly for it the rest of the time you are there.

A leader is a person who can make the most horrible decision and all the bobble heads will say yes to because it's their job to make the leader feel like he/she is intelligent.

A leader is the person that drives the Mercedes from their $750,000 home and parks it next to your beat up Hyundai that you drive from the trailer park.

A leader is the one who says we are an EOE company with competitive salary packages. As you pay for your own H.M.O.

A leader is all these things and more...

NOW GET BACK TO WORK OR YOU'RE FIRED !!!
