Although contriversial I believe the 7 day week has it's origins in Egyptian time and had more to do with the lunar cycle and calendar. Seven goes evenly into 28 days, the lunar cycle. The Bible reference that God created the world in 7 days is a parable and taken from the fact that the 7 day week was already in use when that story was written. There is no basis in history for an 8 day week based on lunar or celestial or lunar cycles so the only reference to 8 days a week that I know of comes from the Beatles song of the same name. Therefore a good name for the 8th day of the week might be, "Loveday".

many african societies - especially the great trading nations of the west coast - had 'weeks' which did not follow the western pattern of seven days.
if you read chinua achebe's 'things fall apart' you will find that ibo society well into historical times followed a four-day week, but that weeks were most often treated as pairs - so that an effective eight day week resulted.
from a western point of view the logical progression would be that if we added an eighth day to our week we should name it after the first planet in the solar system which is not already used.
we already have days for the sun, the moon, mars, mercury, jupiter, venus, and saturn. if we added a day it would seem obvious we should name it for uranus.
'urandi' sounds fine in french, but in english herschelsday would seem a more sensible choice.
