Well I was always a bit suspicious. I think I was 8 when a friend and I found a water slide in her parents closet so we waited til Xmas and if she got it from Santa then we would know he wasn't real. She did, and I was a very serious child so I went to my mother and told her of my findings. I was more worried that the magic was over for her. She cried and I didn't

Actually, my parents never pushed the idea of St Nick on us. We concentrated on the birth of Jesus at that time of year. When we got Christmas presents, they were labelled as "from" whoever gave them--not Santa. And when we asked, "Is Santa Claus real?" we were told, "No, but it's a fun story, isn't it?"
So, I don't think I ever really believed in Santa--and I don't feel deprived at all--but I don't have a problem with you telling your kids that there is such a person.

Do some research he is real look in some old encyclopedias. He just became a legend, and people over the years want to carry the tradition of giving. Of course they made it fantasized and pretty so that they could sell and make a profit but that is not what happened at all. He just wanted to give his toys away to children that had none. it is like when Christmas comes around I try to make baskets filled with baked goods and candies. Some times I give them To family, friends, neighbors and give to the churches to give to those who are in need. It is my way of giving with my heart and carry on the tradition of old St.Nick Santa Clause yes Santa knew the true meaning of Christmas and back when Jesus was born they gave and that is where it started and then Santa didn't have anyone else to give the toys to so he started giving them to children all over the world. His world maybe but you have to remember not a lot of people back then and not believed in him just like not a lot believed in Jesus Christ. Do the research. God bless you and Jesus Loves You! A history lesson, maybe

Big trauma! My mother told me that as long as I kept believing in Santa, he would keep bringing me presents. I'm sure she meant that as a way of letting me come to my own conclusions but I didn't want to quit getting presents so I struggled for years to keep believing. What made it worse was that I went to a Sunday school that taught I would go to heaven if I believed in Jesus and hell if I didn't. And Santa Claus was a saint and saints were in the Bible so not believing in Santa must be tantamount to not believing in Jesus and if there was no Santa was there in fact no Jesus? I never quit believing in either. Now I help Santa deliver presents on Christmas eve and I try to help Jesus with whatever acts of kindness I can contribute.

Part of me will never truly think that Santa Clause is made up. I believe that Santa is the heart and soul of Christmas. He gives us a feeling that maybe there is something more out there (even if we know with science and mathematics that there isn't). Plus I think that it will be even more fun when I have kids. Allowing them to believe Santa is bringing presents to them is going to be so much fun. Santa is the heart of Christmas that brings warmth to our hearts. Why does anyone think it is bad to allow children to believe there is a Santa?
