I haven't had a period since about the week of St. Patrick's Day. It hasn't been unusual in the past for me to skip months at a time, but if not for all the negative pregnancy tests, I'd think I was. I stopped taking the birth control patch in December, so I don't know if that screwed everything up or not. I've been under a great deal of stress lately, so I am sure it's played a part of it. I have the usual symptoms of pregnancy, such as freaked out stomach, frequent headaches, tenderness in abdominal area, etc. Since I think I'd have a positive pregnancy test by now, what other reasons might my period decided to not visit me? I'd appreciate any insights! Thanks!

Well I have been working out lately too, so I know that can mess with your cycle. Last time I was checked, all was good, but as soon as I can get money to go back to my OB I will.

Stress does awful things to any ones body altogether. It could be hormone problems. Going off any pill or patch that controls hormones will take a while to get back to normal. Your headaches are a big indicator that it is hormones, which will give you tenderness and will make it so you don't have periods. I would go to the doctor and ask them to give you the provera pill, it will give you your period. You have a lot in there that hasn't come out...lol Seriously though, you could have a cyst which will make you feel pregnant, it can make you have tenderness and mess you tummy up also. You could have adhesions or scar tissue. Your diet can also play a part in it. I think it would be a very good idea though to go to the doctor since it has been going on from December. Good luck to you.

Oh most definitely stress could play a huge roll in missing periods, also coming off the pill could have messed some stuff up in there. Considering that you are getting the "symptoms" of a period or pregnancy with the stomach and so on..I suggest you go see you gyno he/she will better know what is going on, maybe there is a deeper problem that you have no idea about..it's better you know now if it is anything serious than to wait and wonder and realize you should have checked yourself out a long time ago. Good Luck

anorexia nervosa can cause missed periods. there's a condition called pseudocyesis where a woman believes she is pregnant, stops menstrating and has symptoms of pregnancy such as abdominal distention and morning sickness.

Could be stress, endometriosis, being underweight/overweight.

See a doctor.
