Ok, here's a link to a picture. Take a look at it and tell me if you think it appears to be real or just a painting. I'm not asking if you think it's a painting or a real pic, just wanna know what you think it appears to be. I dont need to know the character or any info on it, just if you think it looks like a painting or a real pic.

The hair is a wig and the dress is just a costume, not comnputer generated, but otherwise? I mean does her skin & co look real?

I'm assuming you mean 'painting' as 'drawn and colored from scratch'.
To me it looks like a real picture. The only thing that makes me question that it might have alterations is the wing shadow. It doesn't seem right for some reason just with where all the sources of light are in in the picture (but I don't know if camera flash was used... assuming this is a real pic).
[Added in: The shadow on the left side of her neck seems to sharp/rough/black for some reason also. ]
(By the way, if that's your outfit, nice SM cosplay. If not, that's still a good wig. o.0 Reminds me that I need to work on my Skuld one. >.<)

I would have to say real. There is a total lack of brush strokes, and the details in the hair and wrinkles of the dress are too precise in detail for them to be painted. Plus the floor tiling and many other details. However due to the shadow being created by the wings, I would also say that the pillars etc. are probably a photography studio background.

It looks real, yet not real. The background looks real enough, but the girl. She looks kinda like a doll. probably computer generated. but i'd say its a real picture over a painting

it is definately not a painting. if were a painting, thn it would have to be an oiloedge painting for such a surreal effect. However, if you look at the picture carefully you do not find aything on this picture that is an effecgt of oil-edge painting. it is definately a picture

The place looks real,except for the body and the dress.If it is a painting it is really good.

The background and light looks real. Even the dress looks real enough. But the girl herself seems to be superimposed onto a picture. There's a larger black outline around her. But unless you told me to really take a look at it, at first glance it looks real.

It's either a real pic or it was generated using a computer program such as Alias Maya. Some really cool stuff. Check it out.
