the pattern is .5 * 3^(n - 1)
.5 * 3^(1 - 1) = .5 * 3^0 = .5 * 1 = .5
.5 * 3^(2 - 1) = .5 * 3^1 = .5 * 3 = 1.5
.5 * 3^(3 - 1) = .5 * 3^2 = .5 * 9 = 4.5
.5 * 3^(4 - 1) = .5 * 3^3 = .5 * 27 = 13.5
.5 * 3^(5 - 1) = .5 * 3^4 = .5 * 81 = 40.5

1.5/0.5=4.5/1.5=13.5/4.5=3
The nth term is given by
a*[r^(n-1)]
So the 5th term is given by
0.5*[3^(5-1)]=
