I previously downloaded a lot of my CDs to my computer. I have since bought an iPod. Now I want to put those files on iTunes. I would just download the music again, but that would take a long time, (it's a lot of music).

I tried to create a folder and import them through iTunes. It said they were protected. Those were files I downloaded from a CD though.
Any Ideas ....... ?

If you want to keep a copy of the files in their original state, then make a copy of all the music files you want to convert and put them in a folder. Go to iTunes and select "file" then select import and select the folder you put the copied tracks in. You will get a message saying that the format isn't what iTunes uses and says the importede files will be automatically converted to the correct format. You click on "convert" and voila' - you have iTunes. This only works for unprotected tracks - those you added from CD's - not music you downloaded.

I think you might have to download the music it again, but you can try to pull the files to itunes and I think it might convert them itself.
