Say you are just maybe two weeks into a pregnancy or at the most five, how unsafe do you think the Equate medication, which is a generic brand, for pain sold at Wal-Mart, is to take?

I'm not currently pregnant but am trying and was just wondering. It is also Extra Strenth Equate I take rarely.

I was really confused about that too. I had read you could take Tylenol and Ibuprofin while pregnant, but in 3rd trimester no Ibuprofin. About 15 weeks I was talking to my doc and he said NO NO NO, nothing but Tylenol, ever while pregnant! Definately stay away from asprin, it thins the blood.

Now my doc is pretty conservative, but the way it was explained to me is the baby can't handle filtering the ibuprofin. That is also why when the baby is born it can't have ibuprofin until 6 months.

I don't remember off hand what is in the equate, but if it is anything but acetominiphin, don't continue to take it until your doc says okay. I doubt that at 2 to 5 weeks pregnant there would be any worries, but as your pregnancy continues you want to make sure you are on the same page with your doctor on what they want you doing.

Check out the site below, it's a great quick find on medications, I use it a lot in my pregnancy.

Like everybody else stated - Tylenol is the one factor viewed risk-free. I discovered that after I began getting complications, I acquired them on days while I didn't have a caffeinated tea within the morning. So I consider they have been caffeine-withdrawal complications! It's viewed risk-free to have 150mg of caffeine or much less an afternoon while pregnant, so I've had a caffeinated tea daily within the morning, and less complications!

I have had 5 children and have taken equate brands with all of them. However it is always a good idea to ask your Dr.
