to "onedeepen":
I saw that match at halloween havoc '98, and thats not something you should bring up if your rooting for bret. I would like to let those who didnt see that know that bret totally cheated in that match whacking sting over the back with his bat many times. + sting had been beating the purplish pinkish out of bret the last few weeks on nitro

Come on people!!!! Sting is the greatest wrestler of all time!!!! They have the same style, but Sting was a little more athletic than Bret Hart. Sting is also a little more hardcore with much better mic skills. Bret Hart could wrestle, but Sting could and still does do it all!!!! Bret Hart's career reached a climax and then shortly started to decline rapidly. Sting was at the top of his game for years and in TNA he still is at the top!!!! This match would obviously last a long time, but in the end Sting gets the big win!!!! Bret got screwed................and your point is?

Finally, a pairing that makes sense as a question. There have been a ton of questions on here like "who would win? Big Show or Dink the Clown?", so this is refreshing. At their respective heights, this would be one of the best matches in wrestling history. Both are fundamentally sound, but Sting does have a tendency to start to wrestle stiff the longer the match goes on, so I would have to say Bret Hart, only because his endurance is better. However this would still be a classic.

Bret Hart has already beaten Sting's holy **** in WCW. They promoted the fight as Sharp shooter vs scorpion death lock. So, forget it. Winner is always Bret Hart. Of course sting is athletic and may be strong. but you're forgetting that Bret Hart is a technical matt based wrestler, never takes chances and he uses brain in his fights unlike Sting. there are thousand points Hitman is ahead of Sting. So, leave it man. This question does not need to be asked, its self explanatory that Bret Hart would win any night. Remember how Bret Hart defeated Diesel aka Kevin Nash at Survivor Series 2005 in Pinfall or submission match for WWE championship ???? he used his mind and not strength. and made a fool out of Diesel.

Hart vs. Sting?

I'd have to say Sting because Hart as a champ didn't fight people that were as tough as Sting had to fight.

Flair was a little younger when he was fighting Sting originally, Hart during his first title run fought a lot of nobody's.

Sting's Scorpion Death Lock was used before the same exact hold, "the sharpshooter".

It would have to be Sting, he's longer and probably quicker, and Hart would have a problem with him.

Bret Hart cause he wouldnt hold back at all, while sting is more of an orthadox wrestler he wouldnt win but it would be one hell of a match to see who would get on the sharpshooter or scorpian deathlock first

In a wrestling match I'd say Sting since he can wrestle almost any style of wrestling and adapt to the style his opponent is wrestling very well.

In a verbal debate I'd say Bret Hart becuase all he does is whinge whinge whinge "I Got Screwed", "Vince Screwed Me", dude it was 9 years ago get over it, no one cares about the Hitman any more.

Bret Hart...hands down!!!
(I'm a Canadain, and that might be why I'm saying so, but the Hart House where Bret grew up, prepared, if not over prepared him for whatever hw might encounter).
