Because humans were made in the image of God, which was perfect. Sin entered into the world marring that perfection. As humanity continues to move through history, it attempts to recover that perfection to no avail.

Other forms of life were not made in the image of God, so therefore have no need to strive for perfection.

I believe you might be stereotyping as both men and women strive for perfection.

Anyhow we (humans) strive for perfection because unlike other beings in the earth we are awiare that we can do better (if we are not satisfied with ourselves).

This would mean for example, starting to workout, or study a little bit more, ect.

To strive for perfection is to evolve, and I think you would agree that we need to evolve much further than we have. Reaching for perfection opens doors we might have missed had we settled for the mundane in life.

I don't strive for perfection.
I'm a real slob of a looser.

When I was at school someone once said to me...
'Wether your picking you nose or eating an apple. Always do it to the best of your ability'.

i hope you mean "man" as in humanity because last time i checked there were alot of perfectionist women in the world

anyway because if you look through history humanity has an instinct to build and be greater than the next. either that or humanity is just pure lazy and wants every thing to be easier

man is greedy by nature. as long as the world wil remain, man nature isn't going to be satisfied although he acheived what he desires. but as we all are mentally corrupted,
lets have an example;
a poor man has a bicycle. he dreams to buy a motorcycle. luck favors him and he succeeds in buying a motorbike. then he wish to buy a car. again luck favors and he buys a car. and after getting the car, he stills feels to be deprived of something.
u tell me how can one makes him a perfect, when his desires are endless.??????????????
