They go to study. Although most people have access to the Internet, going to the library away from home distractions is better. Also people can meet other people there. Some Libraries also have programs to help student find what their looking for, or tutoring programs. Go to the library you might be surprised what you experience.

I go to the library because I love being surrounded by books. It's intoxicating to think of all the knowledge that is contained between those worn covers. There are rarely screaming kids (unless you go to the children's section), squealing valley girls, or rough housing jocks. The world changes within those walls and within a few minutes I have already forgotten any troubles I may have had.

for reading books in which they are intrested.as library is the only place where they can get all the necessary topics they want.going to library may have many reasons such as for preparing projects, reading novels,for increasing general knowledge.
