You could always get out of Tokyo and see some of JAPAN...

In just a few hours in a car or on a train you're in a whole different world. There all sorts of amazing sights, be it cultural, historical, natural beauty...but the real treasure is the people.

Like most other big cities Tokyo people are too busy being busy to laugh and enjoy life. Country people the world over are warmer and more open and this is just as true in Japan. Sure, language may be difficult but I've found small town / village people more accepting of these small communication difficulties and the upside is amazing. They will take you into their hearts and homes - which doesn't happen too much in Tokyo !

Of course, Tokyo has much to offer too, but once you've been there for a while you've probably seen enough shopping / bars / crowds / etc.

Tokyo may be the brains of the country...but it isn't the heart.

The answer is right before you if you are in Tokyo. The JR libe will take you to Ueno which has a great park and zoo - museums as well. The JR line will also take you to Shinjuku - great shopping and train hub. Same is true for Ikeburoko - do not miss the department store especially the basement food. Shibuya is a great part of the city like SoHo New York. Ok - how about a 15 minute or so train ride to Disney? I prefer the Tokyo fish market and the restaurants there. Ask for directions - get there early.
Hope this helped.

Any and everything. If you love roller coasters you'll love riding around in a Tokyo taxi.

Depends on what you like. For shopping, video games, electronics-Akihabara/ for nightlife, clubbing and shopping-Shibuya or Shinjuku/ just get on a train and see where the day takes you. I have discovered some of the coolest places when I was just wandering.

Go see the Goth girls in Harajuku on Sunday afternoon. They hang out on a bridge between the shops and a temple around Harajuku station.
