Im a Kobe fan,and i think his 81 points was amazing, it would take another decade before someone breaks that record..
But excellence is not what you do in a single day, and Bill Russell and the Celtics did that by winning 13 Championships. And on their 13th Championship when their coach retired, Bill Russell himself became player and coach! ,when their bitter rival the lakers have built a team to dethrone them by acquiring Wilt and Baylor who are two top superstars that time to team up with Jerry West.. Everything was going LAs way by dismantling the"OLD"Celtics..But Celtics came back by winning it in 7games in LA.. And then, Bill Russell went into the sunset and retired..
It was a story of heart and perseverance.. Just amazing..

Joe Dimaggio's 56 game hitting streak. It has stood the test of better then 60 years, and the only one who came fairly close to it was Pete Rose in 1978. I don't think anyone will ever break that accomplishment.
