It is applied way too often, and to be honest...
If I told you what race made that error I would be racist, so I am going to stay out of this one "they" know who they are. :)
Some people will find this very post racist, although I find it a valid topic.
It's not always someone being racist, sometimes people just don't get their way like they want.

You cant' say it's missapplied because you don't actually know. Racism today is VERY SUBTLE. Only the person who has experienced it their whole life truly knows who is being racist and who isn't. I have seen times where the shoe does not fit but in most cases it does. I can say this because I am of mixed heritage. My dad and I work at the same place. My father would hear so many things that were race oriented (blatent)and they never knew he had a mixed daughter till they met me and then it all fit as to why I was treated diff. My dad always stuck up for minorities and they finally found out why. Racism is still strong, just under a cloak of disguise.

Often the term racism is applied as a propagandistic tool to achieve political ends. So in the minds of those who consciously do so, they are applying it just the way they want to and not making an error because it doesn't happen to fit a dictionary definition. Then when people who get their education from the public news become accustomed to hearing that term applied in those types of circumstances the word starts to evolve in meaning and if the evolution becomes generally accepted it will eventually make it's way into dictionaries.
However, I'm not going to fall into the trap of assigning this behavior as being more predominant in one racial group. I would rather draw the parallel between this perversion of truth and the battle that's going on to redefine what the word "marriage" means.

Blacks do point blank and in a nutshell. It is used as a tactical ploy toavoid an honest look at there own flaws. It is used maliciously in the workplace by blacks to get out of a hole they have dug for themselves with a white boss.It is used to put aguilt trip on a white person who is too weak to call there bluff.Racism exists ,and for the most part we see it from blacks toward whites.hell, turn on BET right now and listen to any black stand up comic and see for yourself. Blacks are shamelessly racist. And furthermore if you are a white parent and you accept being called a honkey or a cracker from a arrogant black bigot then you are teaching your children that racism is acceptable. If your child is being harrased at school by a little black bigot in the making and you say nevermind then once again, you are teaching yourchild that racism is an acceptable behaviour. You see the trend nowadays that blacks teach there children by example that racism is an acceptable behaviour and white parents tolerance of it teaches there children that racism is ok as long as it is going in the whites direction.Whites need to change this wimperous acceptance B.S. and start kicking the sh** out of racist blacks. Time to stand up and lay the smack down where it truly belongs today!

It's misapplied as often as it's applied correctly, that's for sure. There's no way to assume we could ever know what entire race inwardly or outwardly misapplies racism. It doesn't matter anyways. People are individuals. Why would we want to name an entire race in order to point the finger at the errant ones?

generally minority races. one only terms something racist when he/she feels that it is offensive. usually it is the minority races who would take offence, or people who may not be from a minority race but feel a personal need to crusade against discrimination.
