Really do we have to look out for everyone else? do we have to support them? Is it our resposiabilty to be the worlds watch dog or to impose our way of life on them. Did Iraq's people ask for our help? And why are we not helping those in the sudan that are being murdered everyday by the vigilanties thier own government hired to commit genocide. Really If we our going to stick our nose in everbody else's business why don't we stick it where it's needed. Yes suddam hussain was an evil man but he's in prison now so why our we still sending people over there to get killed. Iraq has a new government let them work it out. lets not turn this into another vietnam. We did what we set out to do we got rid of saddam. It's time we go help some else or even better to help ourselves by stopping the invasion of our own county.

The people of Iraq asked for help when we went there the first time (Desert Storm) but we left when an oil pipeline was being built through Afghanistan from an oil field discovered in southern China, so we went to Afghanistan to stabilize the area so the pipeline could be built. With China expanding economy, they decided to keep the oil, so we lost interest in Afghanistan and had to go back to the middle east. Freedom! makes a better rallying cry than SUV's for everyone!, but we don't go to Sudan because they have nothing we want. Sounds coldhearted, but we aren't the watchdogs of the world, and the sooner we realize that the sooner we can bring our boys home and protest our own country.

If we don't baby sitter the other we will have even a bigger problem bigger then Hitler If we had baby sit the other country as we do now we would not have so big of a problem with Hitler. He would not be able to go anywhere.
If we back off Saddam is a even bigger problem then Hitler. Our freedom to worship would be in bigger dangerous.

Image a Muslim leader ordering every one to be a Muslim or die. that not the kind of religion freedom we want.

Most of the Muslim state do NOT accept Christian or other type or religion just Muslim

below is an example
Rahman, a father of two, was arrested last week and is now awaiting trial for rejecting Islam. He told local police, whom he approached on an unrelated matter, that he had converted to Christianity. Reports say he was carrying a Bible at the time.
The Afghan constitution, which is based on Sharia, or Islamic law, says that apostates can receive the death penalty.

Well, by staying there now and redeploying troops there, we are preventing it from becoming another Vietnam. In Vietnam, from the jaws of victory we snatched defeat. We do not want that to happen here.

As for when we became the number one cop, it happened when a war tired Europe let Hitler grow and grow and grow. Hitler and his allies started a war that killed lots of people in many nations, including ours. If we had stepped in earlier, we could have prevented all that death. If Europe had the guts to do it, we never would have had to send our men to die on the beaches and grass of Europe.

As far as imposing our life on them, there is no imposition to help people be free. It is human nature to want to be free. We seek to protect that innate right of all people, when we can. When we withdrew from south Vietnam, millions were slaughtered and executed by the invading north. Millions is a heck of a lot.

I agree with you that more effort should be shown in Rwanda.

We need to make sure that we do not have a repeat of what happened to the Shah, and establish a permanent ally other than Israel in the middle east.

Only the ignorant can not see that this is all about $$$$.
They could careless about Iraq!

It's just a shame that we get fed b/s, and buy it !

It's psychology really, make us feel like we are helping someone, in need, as if we have a say in it.
It takes our mind off the real situation.

This started with them being a threat to us now all of a sudden we are freeing them. People like to be lazy and not think out a situation so it comes down to "they said it was, so it must be".

Every time there is talk about pulling out of there, they come off with the ol' our soldiers would have died for nothing then.
Most of you accept this as a valid argument.
I see it as "how many times must we fall down to realize it's all a big mistake"

Real gullible actually

People here are self-righteous, uninformed and take themselves too seriously, which leads to a lot of friction in international relations.

I honestly don't think people here use their common sense, nor do they try to work with other people in general to work towards a common goal. There are a lot of problems here that are ridiculously easy to fix, but they just aren't being worked on. I think they are immensely critical issues, not just stupid cultural quirks. If this nation can't even fix their own problems, why are they trying to tell other nations how to fix theirs?

I am running my mouth because I am tremendously disgusted. I apologize. I am in a ridiculous situation and I'm not happy...

Since the rest of the world can't be trusted to take care of itself, we are the defacto parental nation. Look at history, since WWII, everytime there has been a natural disaster or one backwater country invades another, the world comes begging us for our help.
