I have both, and I like them each for their own reasons. Yahoo is a bit easier to use, but Gmail has a whole lot of storage, so they both have their strong points.

Yahoo is very good futures & also google but both is diffrent. I'm telling you my personal experiance with google email account: One time I'm finding some information on google search eninge pertucular in MBA course in diffrent university. After then I closed my IE browser & check my gmail account that some illigle university's junk mail droped in my gmail inbox. I never register my email address anywhere for that perpose but I got lots of mail. After then I realised that google search engine cookies was track our browseing habbits and pass it somewhere else and those people send marketing mail or may be possible they have some program like adsense for that tracking.

i would say Yahoo because Google is known for making deals with the US government behind the scenes.. but honestly i've been in a rut lately about which one is actually more confidential. they may very well be peas in the same pod... check the link in my source
