Who said you can't get what you want? If you really want something, you will be ready to pay the price to get it, or to deal with the consequences in order to get it or to make any sacrifice to get it.
You can have anything, just compromise yourself, setup a strategy, be patience, get advices from those whom got what you want, be discipline about get it, don't give up and don't listen to those that tells you can't have it. (maybe THEY can't).

Because you have not given up wanting what you can't get. Giving up what you can't have is called acceptance. If you have the ablity to change things so that you can get what you want, then maybe you should not accept defeat. What if what you want is not good for you? Have you ever heard the saying " be careful what you wish for because you might get it ". Spending too much energy trying to get something you can't have may stop you from getting other things you really need and want. Sometimes we want things so badly that we don't appreciate what we already have.

Because you know how unsatisfying the stuff you have is. So you think something you don;t have will satisfy you. But you're afraid that if you actually get it you will be disappointed again. So you yearn for things you can't have because what you really want is to be spared that disappointment again. It's not the angst, perversely, it's the hope that keeps you pining.

Cuz that's all life is, a big trip where all like addicts. Alway trying to get to the next hiy. After all why would you do something that you've done before, and know whats going to happen. That would just be boring.

Don't feel alone. Everyone wants what they can't have so they settle for less and become miserable for their own chioces. Don't fall into that trap reach high and appreciate what you do get to have.

Life is too short to consider this as nonsense.
Learn from experience.

When you're unhappy with yourself and your own life (consciously or un), even feeling incompetent, we tend to want what we can't have/get. We get depressed when we don't get what we want, and then give up, and then we want more, but then we get depressed again...the cycle goes on like that.

People that are happy are generally happy with what they already have so they don't care to want anything (that they can't have/get).

it's easy to dream. "coming down" to reality, though, is a much more difficult task. but every once in a while, you may get lucky... it's all just a big paradox like that.
