I have nothing against the site, but it is on the news a lot and I'm just wondering what will have to happen before they see that it could get really dangerous.

Fox owns it, so the newsreports are not going to take it down. And even if they somehow did, another site would just pick up many of those lost users.
It's a subject of many newsreports just because it's relatively new technology and newscasters can make stories about it that scare parents.

The site itself isn't dangerous it's all the sexual predators that feed off that site. If you shut it down then you'll be shutting others down for the same issue. Predators are predators because they go where the prey is. Credit Card Companies and other, over the internet payment companies are joining with law enforcement. This is a good step because now they'll be reporting sites that cater to the rubbish. At this time they've agreed only to release cardholder information under court injuction, but it's a good step.

It's not MySpace's fault that things like what's on the news happens. MySpace has safety tips, and anyone chatting anywhere online needs to be aware that it may not be what it seems. Besides, if it were ever shut down, online perps would find somewhere else to go trolling.

the government or authorities will never shut down Myspace
only the owner could or whoever has rights over it

because of free speech and as long as myspace follows any rules that are made they can stay up forever
and not a whole lot more rules will be made since you have to go through this whole process in voting and over 3/4 of proposals that go in never make it....

they don't even waste there time shutting it down because all of the perverts will find another way to pick up 6 graders in like 20 Min's or so. this is just what this world is . but it took me a while to come to that because i was thinking the same damn thing

Why would it be shut down? Just because it's on the news a lot?? President Bush is on the news a lot and he doesn't get shut down.

myspace is only bad for people who are stupid to begin with.
I have a myspace, but it's set on private, and I only accept friends who I personally know. So for me, personally, there's nothing wrong with it. I mean, there are problems on it, but they're preventable for people who want to be smart.

MySpace.com is doing nothing illegal. They only provide a forum for networking. Much like a handgun, it is up to the user as to whether it will be used for good or evil and how it's safety will be handled.
