An athiest is someone who sees the world as it actually is, not as they wish it was....
For example, an atheist would never say:
"What, you mean I get to live forever, and ever and ever in a magic place in the sky? Oh, goody."

It's a religion bassed around the simple belief that there is no god, often also that there is nothing spiritual or beyond this physical existence and nothing that can't be explained by science.
