How much do you know about the logging industry? Do you know its been a standard within that industry to plant two trees for every one they harvest? Why is logging so bad? Its not about the few jobs for the loggers, its also about preserving the forest, providing for many many more jobs at the mill, building things like houses, and more.
Perhaps you should look at the alternatives to your beliefs for a second.

As people chose to live further away from the larger cities, they look for rural locations to live in. Those with big money then settle in a small farm community and usher in Walmart, Mcdonalds, and so on unntil another small town grows and looses its charm.
