Well its a love-hate kinda thing...you love them because without them your husband/wife would not be here...but sometimes they drive you crazy.

Absolutely love. My mother-in-law was an amazing woman. She was the most loving woman I have ever known. She never judged a person, but only tried to understand them and love them. She helped many people in a very concrete way as well, through her work with drug programs. I was overwhelmed by her open-armed reception when I first met her, so shy and close-minded as I was then. I almost think she must have had some inkling that her son and I would fall in love. In any case, I have been blessed to know her and to have been a part of her amazing life.

My husband's step-father is a man I truly admire. He is a graceful and elegant soul, a lover of beauty and a gentle and kind person. He strives to achieve serenity in his life, but also likes to be occupied with interesting hobbies and projects. He has a knack of making a success of any project he turns his hand to. He will study up on a subject, create something wonderful from what he has learned, then go on to some new subject which he finds intriguing. He is a father who deeply loves his children, and who has welcomed me sweetly and graciously into his life.

My husband's father was the most difficult for me to get along with. He is quite old-fashioned and intolerant in many ways. He is rather a chauvinist as well. We clashed in many of our opinions early on in our relationship. He has also acted less than kindly toward his children and his family at times. However, he also is a man of great conviction. He is a great patriot. He fought in WWII. He served as a law enforcement agent for many years. He started and ran his own successful business. He has done a great deal to see the people of his country and his community are safe. He loves to talk. He is old, and he tells the same stories over and over again. It used to annoy me, but one day as he launched into the thousandth telling of one of his anecdotes, I realized all he had done in his life, all his knowledge and experience, and I said to myself, "It's time to just shut up and listen." He has my respect for much of what he has done, he has my love, and on the things about him I don't like, I simply try to understand.

I got really lucky with my in-laws. I am so fortunate to have a whole new side of the family to love and to be loved.

My mother-in-law is very sweet, but she lives with us and for that reason, drives me bonkers! She eats potatos, eggs, and popcorn, and that is it I swear! She is a little old Mexican lady, and she loves some eggs and papas, OH and beans and rice. And she watches her novelas all day and she leaves used tissues every where, and when she does the dishes, she puts my pots and pans away in the weirdest places.... and she hangs towels on nails on the wall in her room........ there's much much more but you get the idea

Hard question. i like them most of the time. They have just treated me so bad in the past at times..... but I do have a somewhat loving feeling for them at times. I am just being honest. I wish I could say I LOVE THEM..

I'm kinda in between with them - although I would have to say I love them more than anything. But just like all familys we have our moments where we disagree and have problems.

funny thing: my dad 's family is in oklahoma....my grandmother lived on a reservation (cherokee) and my dad was born there, but then they moved to whittier, ca. and he met my mom there(mom was born and raised in CA). well, my dad wants to move to Oklahoma and my mom doesnt. online, i found this joke that was hilarious and reminded me of them! joke: this husband and wife are driving down some highway in the country and pass a farm field with some cows grazing and the husband looks at the wife and says: "relatives of yours?" and the wife snaps back and says"yeah, inlaws!"

Hate one of them... the she-devil
Here's an example
She wore her wedding dress to her son's wedding. We're talking full blown wedding dress. Crazy, yeah, I know.

I'm not married, but I love my boyfriends parents. They have wholeheartedly welcomed me into their family. They have invited me into their home for dinners, parties, and fun. They have taken me on trips with them. They have remembered my birthday and graduation and helped me to celebrate them. I'm lucky to know them.
