I was surprised to hear Mike & Mike on ESPN admit that the NL East race is over...it was nice to hear the Mets get the respect they deserve! If you listen to a lot of other media outlets in NY, the Yankees are always on top: Mike & The Mad Dog are complete Met haters, even the local news channels (channels 5 & 9 specifically) lean towards the Yankees. And it's killing me now that people are saying that the Mets are winning because a former Yankee (Randolph) is managing. The Mets are unstoppable right now, and will probably have 5 or more representatives at the All Star game, so I hope that gets them a bit more respect.
I couldn't deal with the biased media anymore, so I got XM, and I have to say that the coverage there is pretty even. I do admit though, that I'm biased myself...what Met fan wouldn't be?! =D

Mets are going to continue winning but being in new york means that the majority of people are yankees fans so even if the yankees continue to lose they will never get the majority of the respect in new york but they will obtain some.

I am NOT a Mets Fan but I have to say that they are playing very well so far this season. I get a sick feeling having to say that but they do deserve respect because they are earning it this year.

They are getting more than usual but they will never get the full respect hey deserve because they will always be in the shadow of the Yankees. Its pretty sad if you think about it.

i think they are headed in that direction but i really believe they would have to win like they are on a consistent basis, but it doesn't help to have the Yankees across town.

Absolutely. Any time you have an 8.5 game lead in your division in June, you're getting some props.
