Exactly the customer is definitely not always right, in fact they are wrong most of the time. If I was a manager I would make sure my customers know that

No, the customer IS always right, and the maxim is truer than ever. Businesses don't give a hoot anymore about giving proper service or good quality product. Or are you trying to say that no customer ever has a valid complaint?

Let's say I order a computer with a P4 2GHz DVD-RW and pay $2000, and they send me a P3 800MHz CD-R. Why shouldn't I complain?

Or I order a well-done steak in a restaurant and they bring me it to me bloody rare. Should I just eat it without complaint?

Or a mechanic rips me off, overcharging for parts and labour. Are you saying I shouldn't sue?

Graft, laziness, and corruption are rampant nowadays. Since when did it become unreasonable for consumers to expect to receive the things they paid for? If I order something and pay for it in good faith, I expect to get it. Anything less, I won't let it pass. And I'm not wrong for doing so.

There's another saying in business you should contemplate: "One satisfied customer will tell one person. One dissatisfied customer will tell ten." If a business wants a good reputation, it's earned by giving good service, not demanded or paid for with advertising.

You said it! 2.5 years combined working for KMart and Target, I wanted to come unglued all over customers daily, but always had to remember, "The Customer is always right!". Hey, let's all of us who agree with that, ban together and form a revolution! LOL
