My hubby asked me to accept his colleague as a second wife. So this girl was brought home to me. She said to me if she cant find a better man than my husband in 5 yrs time she will marry him. She is 23 and my husband is 36..It seemed to my husband that marriage is the only way out to this girl's problem..god knows what the problem was..i did not relent..i asked for divorce.

Logic? What's insane is that you haven't walked out on him for even thinknig about this. He is a dirty old man. Don't you have any respect for yourself and the scanity of your marriage?
Why aren't you outraged????????
Why is it up to YOUR husband to take care of this girl. He is married and it isn't his job to rescue young women.
I just reread your question. And you said you asked for a divorce. Good good. Stick with it. This man sounds dangerous and not trustworthy.
Take good care of yourself
You were definatly right to leave him!

Good for you for asking for a divorce. Not like most woman who would cave to their husband's demands. Though sorry to hear about the situation...
Back to your question though... I have no idea why anyone would want to be a second wife. The entire idea is ridiculous. Who would want to be second? Isn't the whole idea of marriage to be in a commited relationship with one person? Maybe it would work well for a woman who did not enjoy sex, then a second woman could take on that role for her, but beyond that, I have no clue.

You made a wise decision in divorcing him. He's a cheater, and he thought it would be justified to marry two women, which means that you can't trust him. Sign the papers and move on.

There is no logic in asking for a second wife in the USA, England, or Canada, as well as many other countries, because polygamy is illegal in all those areas. However, in many Muslim countries, men can have up to 4 wives (according to the Koran), so it would be logical there.

There is logic biologically in having multiple wives. He could reproduce more, producing more babies and spreading his genetic material more.

If it wasn't so tragic for you, it would be pretty funny. Is it possible that your husband "confessed" to his infidelity in this insane way so he wouldn't have to carry the guilt of asking for a divorce himself? It is really bizarre. Those 2 deserve each other. You're lucky that you found out after 5 years of marriage, and not later.

Divorce the husband and ask his gf to be the first wife and yourself second wife if U don't want to seperate. It might be that his gf is satisfying him than U. So either seperate or continue the present situation

All I can say is that your husband has balls the size of Texas...To actually bring the woman to the house and ask can she be the "second wife.Don't take this a prejudice, you have got to be a "white" woman, because a "sister" would still be shooting...hahaha....hostage situation and all....

Thats a bit disturbing. Run!! Run as fast as your legs will carry you. Sign the papers quick. Your husband is odd, and so is this girl. I can't believe he brought her home, and i can't believe she came to your house and told you that she wanted to marry your husband. The whole thing is damn weird.

maybe she just needed citizenship or something. or once i heard about a will that left an insane amount of money but you have to get married. Maybe just for insurance purposes. Many reasons. Maybe it wasn't for sex or for real but he likely would have told you as such. Hey, maybe she's just willing to share.

It's all relative. You have your ideas on how things should be but we're all just chunks of meat and bone. No reason it can't work if you have the right mindset.

This husband and other woman is not in the mainstream of society. They may not be of this world. Be good to yourself and get a new start. Good Luck
