In my Flash 8 I put in a song to make a music video. I need to play the song so I can sync the animation with the song, but once the song plays, it won't stop how do I stop and restart the song.
P.S. The song is on a dofferent layer than the animation. I'm new to this so help.

To stop the song, go to the keyframe where you want to stop the song on your song layer. Look for an "Actions" pallete (if you can't find it, go to Window menu and check) and open it. Find a command called 'stopallsounds' and insert it onto your keyframe.
Then when you play your animation, the song will stop when it reaches your keyframe.

just drop your song on time line and expand the time line to end of song. Click where ever place on the your audio layer and go to Properties panel. Change the drop down menu on bottom left (i forgot the name) from event to stream.
