I dont have one iota how it is spelled

AS in "one iota" or "I don't give one iota for what you do"?
Haven't a clue for it's root, but it is used in many parts of the country in every day conversation. You find out, let me know too.

Interesting fact, I just ran spell check on this and it found no errors, so the spelling is "iota".

Iota (uppercase Ι, lowercase ι) is the ninth letter of the Greek alphabet. In the system of Greek numerals it has a value of 10.

The word "iota" is also used in English to express a very small amount, because iota is the smallest letter in the Greek alphabet.

The word is also used in a common English phrase, 'not one iota of difference', to signify a meaningless distinction (lit. "not even a small difference").

The ninth letter of the Greek alphabet.
A very small amount; a bit: not an iota of truth to that tale.

If you are referring to the word that means "a tiny amount" you spelled it correctly.
