I had a DUI 18 years ago. I was young and dumb!
Everyone at the hearing who had an attorney got 6 months probation and those who did not got a year.
An attorney can also help your fines costs get lowered as well as helping you not have to serve any jail time if your state requires it.
If you work your attorney can also help request a working license. That way you can drive to and from work when your privlages are suspended.

Attorneys can occasionally get your fine reduced...but then when you pay the attorney's fees...you don't come out ahead. Just wing it - be respectful to the judge - and don't do it again for Christ's sake!
