The easiest way is to win all the games. You can lose some in the early rounds when it is round robin.

you have a group stage where each group has 4 teams. They play a round robin format( everybody places everybody) then the top 2 go into the last 16. Then its all knock outs. So you can have a draw in the first round but not the second.
Eventually 2 teams meet in the final and then we have a world champ!

It starts out with group play. There are four teams in a group. They all play each other once. The top two teams in each group advance. To advance out of a group you have to be one of the top two point earning teams in your group. You get points via a win=3 points; tie=1 point; loss=0 points. If your team is one of the top two teams in your group you advance. The second stage is a single elimination bracket. It is set up so that the number two teams from different groups play the number 1 teams from other groups. If you lose you're out, if you win you advance to the next game. The team to win throughout the bracket is your world cup champion.

First, you start out in group play. There are four teams in a group, and each team plays all the others. The two teams from each group advance into bracket play, single elimination. Last team standing wins. I am quite sure it is single elimination, someone correct me if I am wrong.
