In Eminem's song "Like Toy Soldiers", he says "I went through my whole career without ever mentionin' ___". I've heard it's Suge. What is it/who is it and why is it not said?

Suge Knight, he supposedly arranged the murders of Tupac and the Notorius B.I.G, he was also believed to pay the guy who punched Dr. Dre at the 2005 VIBE awards, the night Young Buck was arrested for stabbing the guy who punched Dr. Dre in defense of Dr. Dre. Suge recently filed for bankruptcy.

The bleeped name was definitely Suge, as in Suge Knight of Murder Inc records. If you read the entire song as Eminem's expression of disgust with the feuds that have dominated so much of rap music, you'll probably interpret this line of the song to refer to Knight's legendary feud with Dr. Dre - a long-standing beef that may or may not have led to a string of murders. (that's for another discussion).

When Eminem says I went through my career without mentionin' "____", he purposefully doesn't mention him, yet again, to make it clear that though the listeners know exactly who he means, he's still not going to give Suge Knight the respect of even mentioning him by name.

I've never paid attention to the words in this song but after googling in the lyrics and then listening to the song it's interested to hear how it's blocked out like that.

Apparently it's "Suge"

I've been wondering the same thing for a while, but then I googled it, and came up with "Suge" as in Suge Knight...Check out the link below for some info on him.

I'm assuming it's the name of Ja Rule's son/daughter, since he is talking about how during the beef Ja Rule mentioned Hailey's name which crossed the line.

It's not said because that would be stooping to Ja Rule's level, bringing in the children of the person who you have a problem with to try and get under their skin. He also censors himself in his beef with everlast when he makes fun of him for being a "white rapping irish _____" "Man I wish I was Irish, I could be a ____, too"....In another song it's clear that it's "Muslim" that he censored.

On the other hand, it could be Suge like you said, and he didn't say the name because that wasn't his beef, it was between Dre and Suge, and he is pointing out how he shouldn't be involved with Ja Rule since his beef is with Benzino.
