Could we stop terrorism by electing a Muslim President?

No, because the extremists would think that the Muslim President of the US was a sell-out. All Muslims are NOT terrorists--not by a long shot. Most are peaceful and loving, and kinder than most so-called Christians that I know.

If you need an example of how your theory would not work, look at Iraq. If it only takes a Muslim in charge to stop terrorism, why are there so many car bombings everyday aimed at fellow Iraqis, not Americans? Terrorism is a way for small groups of people to try to assume the power of large armies. People who feel that they do not have the numbers or the "voice" to be heard, decide to blow something up to make a noise and be noticed. (Like a child who is never praised for the good that he does, so he does "bad" to get attention..)

And why are there other sorts of terrorists--in Ireland, in other countries in Europe, in Africa, etc.??

No, because they do not care who the leader is. There is a jihadist movement which wants to convert every infidel, which means even if we had a token Muslim leader, they would still be at war with us.

Need I remind everyone that Iraq and Iran are both Muslim supremacist states, and they fought a war with one another. Muslims are not unified in thier struggle. Some are jihadists, some are not. Some are Sunnis, some are Shiites, etc. They are less unified than the Christain faith, as the Christians are also always at odds with one another, as is the Jewish faith progressives versus orthodox.

To oversimplify someone by simply calling them Muslim is ridiculous. I could be anyone and still be a Muslim. I am not a muslim however.

Osama Bin Laden would not hesitate to kill a Muslim. He has proven this over and over again, as well as all of the Jihadists. They routinely kill innocent people in thier own nations who do not support terrorism or conversion by the sword.

Well, it would dumbfound Osama and his mamma, but no, it wouldn't stop terrorism. A democratic society would not function if a Muslim were president... from what I've learned about the Koran, if a Muslim were president, EVERY aspect of our society would have to follow the Koran. That would include women wearing burqahs and not even any debate on gay marriage.

lol, that would only increase terrorism. It's not necessarily the Muslims in general who are committed to terrorisms, but groups within them such as Al Qaeda who's goal is to destroy America. They don't care if a Muslim President is in office, that's not their goal. They want all Americans dead.

No, because, simply put. Muslim nations haven't found a way, nor wanted to, separate religion from state. Which is one of the founding principles in the Constitution. So it confounds the political mind why christian fundamentalist are as adamant about mixing the two as muslim fundamentalists.

and second.. this could never happen because in order to be president of the united states you have to be born in the US.
Now yes, you could have had kids who are muslim born in the US.. but the terrorists would just seem that person as American.
