You ring up and the system says "Please tell me your account number" and you say "1234" and it says "Your account number is 9767" and you say "No, it isn't" and it says "Do you want to donate $100 to charity today?" and you say "No" and it says "Thank you."

I strongly feel that voice activated phone systems are aggravating and shows little consideration for the callers time .

Though these systems are potentially more user-friendly to people with certain physical limitations, they aren't very friendly to the deaf or hard-of-hearing who don't know a company's TTY number. They're also extremely annoying if one has any sort of regional or international accent!!

Irritating as hell. Especially the systems used by utility companies. The one here in Omaha (OPPD) is so sensitive that if you sneeze, it hears you and tells you that is not an appropriate answer! Well, excuse me, it wasn't MEANT to be an answer!

I can't stand them, they never understand what I'm saying no matter how clearly or slow I try to speek!

it is so sad, the systems never reconize my responses and I end up pushing 0 anyway!

They are stupid, and very annoying. It drives me absolutely crazy.
