its called molting. its normal dont worry about it. be sure to groom your bunny more than normal when he is molting. rabbits dont have the abiltiy to cough up fur balls like cats do, so its important for them not to get too much fur in thier digestive systems. it could eventually cause a blockage. heres a page with some more info. check out the whole site too. its a good one.

It is because his cage is not kept clean enough.. Also if you have the type of cage where the rabbit just sits on his chips, you should really invest in one with the holes in it so its feces and waste will drop down. Rabbits hate sitting in feces, or urine. They will even pull their own hair out. Try and keep them as clean and dry as possible.
And yes they do shed some fur during the summer, but if you see bald spots then it is another problem more than just normal shedding of fur.

Could it have mange or some sort of skin alergy? Is it over stressed or not getting proper nutrition? I know those are usually the reason dog's hair falls out, but I'm not really sure about rabbits. If the problem gets worse, or bald spots start to appear, contact you vet for advice. The vet knows best ;-) Hope it all works out ok with your bunny friend!

Because it is summer, the animal needs to shed it's winter coat. That is why you may have noticed that the fur has been falling out. Be sure to brush your rabbit every once in awhile to help it along.

Rabbits have 3 big shedding periods a year but some rabbits (like mine) seem to be shedding all the time. Just brush him so that he doesn't get hair in his mouth when he cleans himself. If you see big patches of skin he could be allergic to the bedding. A lot of animals are allergic to pine bedding. The paper is good but they sometimes like to eat it. I have also had my rabbit for about a year and he sheds so much I wonder why he isn't bald. Remember to brush him every day or he will get sick. Good Luck! Please postpone results of treatment, I would like to know what happens.
