It's been like three weeks since I first found out that she's pregnant and I've been reading about it and some websites told me about them aborting. Could it be that she's just not ready to give birth yet. I am sure that she's pregnant and she still has that dark black spot.

A guppy is capable of hanging on to the fry for months. To encourage her to drop them you should put your lights on a timer. Keep the water temperature at about 78-80F and give her lots of hiding places. In the right conditions she can have a batch of fry every 21 days.

I don't think she aborted, or had any problems.

She more then likely just is not ready to have them. One factor could be stress. Stress can keep a guppy from having her fry until she is no longer stressed. Some can even have a few babies - get stressed out - and not have the rest until a week later.

I heard of females going 6-7 weeks before having their fry.

you mean, your female guppy eat the fry. It is possible since guppy eat everything that fit in its mouth. Use the breeding trap to make sure the fry is safe from its mother.

Hopefully my answer could help you.

end shifting her round, you're stressing her. How would you want it if someone did that to you? once you've been breeding for some months, you need to comprehend that typically it takes rather longer than different cases. depart her contained in the numerous tank (or if she's contained in the breeder tank now, depart her there) and allow her provide start in peace. it is going to ensue finally, in simple terms be affected human being.

It may take longer. If she aborted her stomach would visibly go down. If there are other fishes in the tank then she will take longer and give birth to bigger fry - from my experience.
