Yes it does work. It causes the air flow to spirial and increases the amount of air fuel mixture into the cylinders.

As a general rule, TB spacers do affect the power delivery of the vehicle, by lengthening the path of the incoming air charge. Lengthening the intake path generally shifts the power the motor produces down more towards the low and mid-rnge of the rev range. As a general rule, long intake runners produce more low-end torque, short runner produce more high-end horsepower. Unless you treat your morning commute like a Grand Prix qualifying session, more low-end power is the way to go, especially in a relatively heavy vehicle like an SUV. Any claims about a 'vortex effect' and making the fuel and air mix better is B.S. People simply buy into that because of the current concern over fuel prices, and they are playing on people's fears of crappy gas mileage. Any swirl the spacer provides is completely negated once the air rushes through the small gap in the intake valve as the air enters the cylinder. That being said, a TB spacer MIGHT improve your power by giving you slightly more torque, but there is NO way you are going to be able to feel it. The people who say they do are just are just feeling the 'placebo effect', where they think they are making more power, so their mind tells them they actually do feel it. A TB spacer is one of those mods where you do lots of stuff that makes a very small difference, and over time, all those little things add up to a lot. If you haven't done so already, switch to a high-flow filter element like a K&N. The cost is about the same, It will make more of a difference in power (again, a small one, probably not noticeable), but you WILL save money on replacement filters. Take the money you save and put it in your gas tank. Hope this helps.

A normal throttle body spacer adjustes the velocity of the air/fuel mixture. Typically people add a spacer for more velocity on the top end. There are however spacers that help the bottom end at the sacrafice of top end, essentually you are moving your powerband, not really adding more power.

I would like to see the dyno results on that. I have read several magazines in which these things have been discounted. Just think of what it is. It is only making the path to the intake longer!

I think you would do just a well to buy a TORNADO product to put on your air box to mix the air and fuel better.

it does work to where you'll hear the difference and also you'll feel a little oomph to it. replace the air filter with K&N and it'll sound even deeper and you'll feel a little gain in hp.
