Did your sister asked to have her ears pierced, or it was your mom's idea? Did she know what was going to happen?
You are twice her age and everyone has a different perception of "hurting".
I had mine pierced a month ago, at the mall, and it took less than a second per ear; If you try to say one, the piercing would be over before you finish the word. Not a drop of blood and no after pain, just the weird sensation to have something left in my ears! This not painful feeling is fading within 2 or 3 days, then you forget totally you have pierced earrings, except that you have to clean them at least twice a day, and rotate them so they don't stick, always with clean hands, of course.
Now, about real pain, try to wear some clip-on earrings, the kind with a spring in metal, so it does not slide. Your ears will hurt 10 times more than with the piercing process; I wore clip-on earring when I was young and it created a big mole at the back of one of my ear; It was hurting sometimes just by sleeping on it, and after several years of not wearing any earrings, I had the mole removed chirugically, something you don't want to go through.
So, be confident, this is less than a shot which is poking and poking you for several second or a minute, notwithstanding the serum injected that could also be painful.
Remember:"One!" the needle/earring is already on the other side and it is over.
Then, you gonna have your life time to enjoy buying , matching earrings with your mood and outfit.

A piercing is a quick punch through the ear and then it's over with, it's nothing to be scared of. I'm 17 and I just got both my cartillages done last week after waiting more than 7 years after getting my doubles. As long as you take care of them they will only be slightly sore to touch for about a week or so, mine should only take another week before they're not sore at all (but then again, cartillages take longer to heal).

When you're getting the actual piercing, just zone out on something across the room and just really focus your mind on it, it really helps. Then durring the brief down time between the two ears, just don't even react to the first piercing, I don't know why, but it helps for some reason. Just relax and enjoy the adrenaline rush, it's always fun shopping for cute earrings. :)

I had mine done at 7 years old. I didn't have a problem until my dad said it was bleeding. Then, I started screaming like crazy. When I turned 35 I got 3 more piercings. No blood, but my dad didn't do it. I went to a professional. Oh, not a piercing pagoda. a tatoo and piercing specialist. Check for credentials. Ask questions. They can really mess up if they don't know what they are doing.

I got mine pierced when I was 12. ( don't have a very good memory of it, it was many years ago ) But I was so freaked out, I almost left when the woman came to pierce them. It didn't hurt too bad, in fact, I was relived after she did it. Bring a friend or more with you, they will help you relax, It definitely helped me. Just go in there and do it. The pain is not bad at all, its just like a little pinch, and then it burns a little, but they put some achohal (sp?) on it, and it goes away. Then they do your next ear, and your done!

I promise you, you will feel so relived once its done, I have a very low tolerance for pain, and it didn't hurt at all for me. I got it done with a gun, which my friends said is better, with the pain.

Make sure to clean them 3 times EVERY day, and DON'T take them out before 6 weeks, I took them out at 4 and it hurt so bad.

Good luck!

Depends on the individual - generally the ear piercing painful moment lasts about 1 nanosecond and then it is over. I actually pierce my own ears and have since I was a teen.

I pierced my ears when I was 12 and i am 13 right now and I was fine. I would suggest going to PIERCING PAGODA if you can, they do the best and really care for your ears

People say that you can't remember things when you are very young, but I was two when I got my ears pierced and I remember it very well. It was a warm sensation that came after the needle, but that was all I felt and then it was over. My sister was nine when she got hers done and she didn't have a problem.

I was 12, and it didn't hurt at all, I think, for most people, its in the head, you know, they are so scared that they imagine it hurting. I went with Piercing Pagada and I wasn't hurt. But your ears do get itchy and hot somtimes...but only for the first day or so...good luck!! Don't be afraid, and it won't hurt...promise!!

:)
