I just started a new job as a server at Cracker Barrel and so far i don't like it, i feel like im at the bottom of the barrel. I was a server at Perkins for 2 yrs, i had senority there, i quit because i was tired of the job and wanted to try something new. my bf works at perkins and that i where we met and how we got together, everyone is begging me to come back to perkins. i don't like the new job and i'm not making as much money as i was making at perkins, ive only been there a few weeks and i don't want to quit already and feel like a failure. But my manager at perkins wants me to come back and he offered me a decent raise if i came back. So should i stay at cracker barrel and hope things will get better or should i go back to perkins where i know everybody there and have my senority back?

You should do what you like, and it seems like you don't like Cracker Barrel. Go back to Perkins, because from your information the money is more at Perkins. You've tried your new "thing" and it didn't work out. That's fine. The world isn't perfect and fit like a glove.

Johnny Carson said if you love what you do and enjoy what you do, then you pretty much have everything. You have friends, more money, and an environment that positive for you. Heck, you might find it a challenge to return. That might be something "new" for you to tackle.

Good luck!

only you can make the final decision. If you did not like your job at perkins than why did you take one at cracker berrel doing the same thing? I think that you would be better off going back to your old job and then go to school part time to learn a real trade that does pay you good and with benifits. If perkins gives you beneflits then why did you quit?

Holy cow this is a no brainer. Its not like you are the CEO of cracker barrell here. These jobs are identical for intents and purposes. Server. Its the same. If Perkins will pay you more and you are more comfortable there BOLT back to Perkins right now!

Being senior on job is a very good thins, that's what most people who start a job always hope to be there long enough to get more responsibilities, which in some cases mean a nice salary. I don't understand why you would want to stay at a job where you're not happy especially if you don't have to. Just think about it like this you haven,t failed the job it has failed you, when you realized it's not all it was cut out to be.

You always will have to start at the bottom. I would tough it out a little longer. Any new job is a little difficult at first. You may end up really liking this new job. Personally, I think if you go back to your old job and you get all yoru "seniority" back, it will probably cause tension among co workers. They will feel as if you were bluffing when you quit.

remember why you quit perkins in the first place.
was it because working with your B/F?
more money is not always better.
if the people are friendly & enviroment etc... that is what will
make you stay at a job Good Luck!

I would go back, but don't expect that every time you quit a job you will be able to go back. You are lucky they want you back.
