October Sky......Homer Higgins......true story based on a book called Rocket Boys (anagram(?) for October Sky)......watch it...is great...i own it.

Nope it was a film but I can tell you that I'm 12 and I've got the brains of an astrophysicist. But for probes I will as well.

Is his name Bob Zubrin? Dark hair, receding hairline, wears an old style cap, originally from New York. Very enthusiastic when talking about all things space related, especially Mars. Always on discovery channel

Homer Hickman was the guy in October Sky, aka the Rocket Boys. It might well have been him.
