Go to the site listed below, click on the appropriate link (children and teens or adults), enter the required information and it will tell exactly where you stand:

If you feel that your abdomen is your area of weakness, then do ab specific exercises to tighten and tone. You can find oodles of them by doing a search. Of course, the standard ones are situps and crunches, but their are many others.

I am 5'6" and weigh 136 lbs. I am in the US Marine Corps so compared to their standards, I am actually uncer the normal weight. I wish that I could be in the 120s but I am also happy where I am. Muscle is in and I know I have plenty of it and that is what makes me weigh more. You are not overweight for you're height...probably underweight. If you do not feel comfotable about your belly, than try things to tone up...crunches, running, steam engines (those are great), weight lifting, etc. Cut the carbs and fat and that will also help to rid that belly fat. Have patience though...give it a few weeks but stick to it. You can do this!!

It sounds to me like you're not fat in the slightest, just lacking a little in muscle tone.

Swimming is good for muscle tone all over the body, so keep that up as much as you can....the more embarrassing it gets, the harder you swim, do it long enough and the comments will change for the better.

In terms of the tummy, keep in mind that women are *supposed* to have somewhat more fat on their bodies than young men are. This is just plain biology and can't be helped. So if you are female you will never be as lean as a guy (and if you get there it is NOT healthy in the slightest). This isn't meant to be anything more than a neutral statement of fact. Not saying anything bad about you or women or men.

Having said that, doing crunches will improve muscle tone of the tummy, the upper and middle abs specifically. Leg lifts will tone up the lower abs and hip extensors, and if you do crunches side-to-side, reaching elbows to opposite knees, you will work the obliques on the sides too.

But the biggest thing to remember....chill out. Relax. You're fine just the way you are, not fat in the slightest. And stress is bad for your tummy, specifically. If you gain weight under stress, it goes straight to the tummy without passing GO, so to speak....

So don't worry, be happy, you aren't fat at all, you are just fine just as you are, and you are already doing the right thing with the swimming as a workout... :)

Hope this helps.

As you start to realize what you are actually putting into your body, hopefully it will make you more aware when you are shopping and read the labels before you buy. Also take note the portion size. Most people don not and think they are eating healthier but are adding to the calorie count by a bigger portion or light products in a much bigger portion.

Secondly, to lose weight fast you must create a deficit in the calories you are taking in. How to lose weight fast: You can do this through diet, but you can actually do more harm if you do it drastically. It is our human nature to survive and our body will respond accordingly. If you don not feed your body enough it will think we are going through a famine and store what it can to survive. When it stores food it is stored as fat.

To do this properly, remove the junk from your diet first. How to lose weight fast: Foods and drinks like sugary snacks and sodas should definitely be eliminated first and secondly processed foods. Then start to look at your portion size. Believe it or not you can have too much of a good thing. After you have done that and are recording your intake, start cutting back a few hundred calories to create a deficit.

I think what you're looking for are ways to tone your muscles.
120 is a good weight for your height.

You also need to stop worrying about how you look.
Enjoy who you are. Men will notice a confident smile a lot more than they'd notice 5 lbs. The media might try and tell you different ... but life will show you otherwise.

GOOD LUCK and God bless!

There are three main ways to lose weight quickly.

1) Use only water as liquid and eliminate all other liquid drinks from your diet. You must drink as much water as possible every day. You must drink about half of your weight. If you have weight of 200 pounds then you must drink about 100 oz of water.

2) The interval between the eating is very important. If you eat once, then you must eat next after 4 hours. You must take breakfast regularly. In the night eat your food three hours before going to bed.

3) Walking is very good. You must walk as much as you can. Walk everywhere you can. Use of elevators and escalators must be reduced and instead of these you must climb stairs more often.

These are some of the fastest ways to lose weight. By just following the simple steps, you can lose your weight very quickly. You must consult your doctor if want to change your diet or exercise routine.

I'm Anthony. I lost 75 pounds and shed my high school nickname Pudgy. Our family has a tragic history of cardiac disease and rheumatoid arthritis. I am proud to say that family tradition ends with me. I know I have broken the cycle and will never have to be faced with those illnesses. Thank, you have changed my life.
