Forget getting it for free. Planned Parenthood might do it, but the exam and all that cost money. And you need one to get the pills. Talk to your parents. It's not that bad. My mom got me on the pill. Unfortunately, I must've been a week pregnant already. Also, some states won't let you have any Rx drugs or medical exams without parental consent. If I could tell my dad I was pregnant when I was 17, you can get some help with pills. I do not regret having my kid, but it is hard when you're that young, so watch out for yourself.

Go to your local heath clinic and they should be able to help you. But you should really talk to your mother. She will proble be more understanding....... I'm on the pill and it hasn't cused me any problems and i went and got on it for free at my heath department and it didn't cost me anything and they tested me for STD's and everything and they did it for free of charge. And now my perents know about it and they go and get it for me. I'm on sesonel which is the pill that you only have 4 periods a year and that works really good for me. but it is expencive if you don't have an insurance company that will pay for it. or if you get on the regular pill them make sure that you take it around the same time every day at least within 4 hours of when you are suppose to take it. Because the pill is a 28 hour pill and it will work and please use a condom everytime that you have sex because the pill is only 99% effective. You don't want to have a child at the age of 16 trust me i've seen my cousin go through with it and now she has 2 girls and one she doesn't have custody of anymore because she couldn't take care of it and the other one she just had. just be careful if you want to talk to me about anything you can e-mail me at hott_n_sexy_grl@yahoo.com i can understand where you are coming from.

Well if you want birth control for free, then you'd better learn how to be celibate. Every birth control method costs money. You need to discuss this with your parents because you may not be able to get birth control pills without their consent. I would suggest using condoms. This will also protect you from sexually transmitted diseases which birth control pills do not do.

You need to start by going to your parents or legal gaurdian. I am sure they would much rather you approach them with this issue than you end up pregant or worse with HIV or some other std...just talk...they should listen. If you are sexually active you need to start having regular gynecological exams anyway...If you are having problems with your period a common treatment IS birth control pills....Please use your head, sister.
If you are not ready...just say NO. Don't compromise yourself. Boys don't always stand behind what they are promising. I was sixteen once too. Proceed with extreem caution.
Even if you do get oral contraceptives you should still ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS USE A CONDOM. the pill DOES NOT PROTECT AGAINST HIV, STDs, and you can still get pregnant sometimes on the pill....
Something to think about...Take Care.

Abstinence, the best, only 100 percent effective form of birth control, is free. If you're desperate, try that.

What about not having sex until you get married? (Have a little self respect and self control.) Cuts down on unwanted pregnancies, and std's. And it's free. And the tax payers don't have to pay for your having sex, and then for your having a kid.... I know a girl who was using pills and condoms, and still has a kid... are you that desperate?

why do u need birth control at 16? You're underage for any sexual activity.
There are other implications other than the psychological aspect, including risk of STDs. Have you considered how your future husband would feel if you have slept around with people? How would u feel if your spouse did the same? Everytime you sleep around with someone, you're also sleeping around with the people whom they have slept around with...

Your local county health department provides pregnancy tests, STD testing, counseling, and birth control. And the patients information is confidential from parents.
