This is INCREDIBLY common among women, so please don't feel like you're all alone! In fact, I think the percentage of the female population that requires clitoral stimulation to orgasm is over 50%!
I also am one of these women - what I find works best is something suggested by a previous poster - play with yourself while he penetrates you. Most guys will get off on this, especially if he can watch you do it. Also, play with him a little while you're down there - it'll help him feel more involved.
Also, you can hand him the vibrator and let him go to town. Let him learn what you like, and he'll be so happy he pleased you, the vibrator will probably become a regular addition to your bedroom play!
