Cut the vine off at ground level. Then pour a small amount of bleach on the exposed root. It should take care of your problem.

Do not burn it. My friend did and he inhaled the smoke and the poison ivy got into his throat and mouth etc.. It was awful for him. I read the other answers and I think the gasoline should work fine.

my husband tried a gas/oil mix, and all it did was make the plant healthier looking! but it did kill the surrounding vegetation. Try using round-up on it. whatever you do, don`t burn it! the smoke will get in your lungs and give you poison ivy inside. ....not pleasant.

Pour gas on it. You'll have to do it several times, but it will get rid of it. Under no circumstance burn it, you'll poison the whole neighborhood.

Definitely Roundup. Do not Touch it or even attempt to dig it up! Do not burn it or smoke it.
