Hi, I am currently driving a 1991 Ford Escort that has 342,000 miles on it and it still runs and drives fine. Another plus is the air conditioner still blows ice cold air. Granted I have had to replace components on the engine as they have worn out, alternator, battery, starter, timing belt twice, and regular oil changes and filters, but all together I don't think I have spent over $3000.00 on the car in the last 10 years I have driven it, not counting gas of course. The car is still getting about 28 miles to the gallon too. I beleive I will drive the car until it dies from natural causes. Have fun and drive a Ford Escort.

Most cars these days can easily handle 120,000 miles with the proper maintence. You might want to check the Kelly Blue Book value (look it up on google). On the blue book value, you put in the mileage and some other details and they give you an estimate of the cars' worth. I would suggest to keep upping the mileage until the value goes down to below $500. That would give you an estmate of when the car becomes worthless.

Ford cars and trucks do not suck! What do you mean, until it dies? If you keep up regular maintenance on them, they will run forever, just like any other car! I have a 2003 Ford Escort ZX2, it has 46,000 miles on it and it is a great car.

My son has a Escort Wagon with over 150,000 miles. They haven't been trouble free miles, but he likes the car enough to keep it on the road.

I've seen a couple with over 200,000 miles on them. But you have to take care of it to get that many miles out of any vehicle.

I had a used escort as my first car and, with many repairs included, I drove it untill it had about 180,000 miles.

Till it runs out of gas.
In the event you keep putting gas in it, and change the oil regularly, I have seen some hit 200,000 plus
