tough one!
Why do you want to tell them? If its to be honest (you sure you are gay?) but you are not sure they will understand, or worse, throw you out or beat you, WAIT
They may be hurt. They may think someone MADE you gay, by abusing you, Then they might try to get you 'cured'
If you are confronted and badgered by them, don't pester them. Until you can safely move out, fake it
You have the whole rest of your life to live with the answer

that's something you need to sit down and think about but if your parents love you very much they'll get over it and maybe they know already and it won't be a big shock when you tell them. but when you do tell them do at it home not in public sit them down and tell them you have something important you want to get off your chest look them each in the eye and tell them your gay and be strong about it. thats what i would want my son or daughter to do if they thought they might be gay

i think you should jump out of the closet and be like "hey guess what I am!"
But how ever you decide to tell them, I hope they're understanding. No matter what happens, they'll still love you.
GOOD LUCK!!!
A guy at school walked up to a group of his friends and told a joke.

Wait until thanksgiving, or some other large meal. Then right in the middle of it say, "Can you pass the gravy im gay and can someone get me the salt?"

There's a good chance they already know. You would just be confirming it. Is that possible?
Just say, I am gay. I care for people of the same sex. That is enough. Be ready to answer their questions, they deserve answers. Good luck to you.

alot of this depends on how old you are. if your experimentally gay...meaning you think you might be, but your not sure...you wait until you know. if you KNOW you are, then you sit them down at a peaceful time, tell them you have a pressing issue to discuss. tell them, that you have fought with your feelings, but have come to the conclusion, that you are attracted to the same sex.

Gently, calmly, firmly. Understand they may respond poorly at first. Give them time and understanding. You had time to come to this realization and know its OK, but they may need a bit of time too. Act with integrity towards them when you tell them and forgive their frailties if they show them.
