It's quite common among married people for this to happen. For single people with multiple partners, it becomes a little unusual.

For people having sex, the condom is the most effective way to avoid getting diseases, or pregnancies. There is a slight risk of improper usage though. Sometimes the condom can slip off when pulling the penis out of the vaginal.

With any one instance of sex, it is rather unlikely for a woman to get pregnant, or get a disease. The man has to have a disease for the woman to even be at risk of catching a disease, and a lot of things can prevent a girl from being pregnant after one time.

GETTING PREGNANT: More people than you would realize are sterile, or incompatible sexually, in such a way that as a couple, they could never have children without medical assistance. Also, far more women are sterile than is commonly believed. IF you are a girl, having sex a lot, and not getting pregnant, you could be one of them. Also, be aware, that it takes several months for a pregnancy to become obvious.

GETTING A DISEASE: Sad to say, but often it takes quite a while for a disease to become noticeable. AIDS, for example, can remain unnoticed for as long as 15 years without specifically testing for it. Many other diseases also take quite a while to show symptoms. While authority figures like to make it seem like you'll drop dead the minute you're done having sex, this is not the case. Diseases are living things too, and they wouldn't be around if they couldn't lay low long enough to infect other people in many cases.

Thankfully, there are some wonderful clinics in most towns, which will test for the most common diseases in the area. Pregnancy tests are available at most drug stores, and take it from me, the people at the cash registers generally do not care at all about what you are buying. Also, since virtually every STD in the world can be transmitted through the blood, you can get tested for them free of charge simply by giving blood, and the blood bank is required by law to let you know if you have anything.

Best wishes. Next time, be sure to shrink-wrap that sausage.

Nothing weird about it just plain stupid i would say ...you can only get a disease if the guy has one and getting pregnant doesn't happen to everybody but it is definitely stupid to take the chance of getting a disease or getting pregnant if your not ready for it...a little common sense goes a long ways....and another thing...its stupid on the guys part too unless he wants to take a chance on getting a disease from a girl or really wants the responsibility of a baby if she gets pregnant

no it's not weird, but it's not smart. You may be lucky and have unproteced sex 100 times and never have trouble, or you could catch stds or have a baby the first time. It's a pointless risk and people these days shouldn't gamble with their lives like that when the protection is readily available!

No it's not because you won't get pregnant unless you have an STD or your partner has one. Before you engage in unprotected sex, make sure you know your partner's sexual history or at least know for a fact that he does not have an STD. As far as you not getting pregnant, hopefully it's sheer luck. Maybe you weren't ovulating or his sperm aren't very good "swimmers" :) If it's more serious than that, maybe you can't have children due to your eggs or ovaries. More than likely just sheer luck. Don't risk it unless you're prepared to face the consequences!

It is not weird at all for you not to get pregnant or get a disease. What will be weird is when you do end up getting pregnant, and you go to the doctor for your first tests, and they tell you that you have also contracted a disease (like herpes) and you didn't even know it. Why take the chance? It isn't worth it.

You can only get a disease from a disease-ridden guy. You are EXTREMELY lucky to have not gotten pregnant if this is a common practice! Not only are you being irresponsible, not using a condom can be very dangerous!

No it's not! But then again I'm married and have never had sex with anyone else other than my husband!
But if you are having sex with differnt guys, you should protect yourself! It's so sad to see girls pregnant or with an std! It's so much easier to prepare and prevent!
Be careful!

Not at all. If the girl has passed her ovulation period, then she might not get pregnant. A condom only helps to catch the sperm ejaculated by the male. Thats all it does. (and by doing so prevents pregnancy) Also, the girl can't catch a disease if the male partner does not have one.
