Monopoly is the most popular of all board games, followed by either Scrabble or Chess. But Scrabble is my fav. I love making up words from some other words.

I have 2 favourite board games, they are Balderdash, which is where everyone takes in turn to get a word off a card and it's meaning and reads just the word out to everyone playing. Everyone has to make up a meaning for this word and write it on a piece of paper, but not let anyone see it. Then the person whose go it is that has the real meaning reads all the fake meanings plus the real one out and everyone has to guess what the real answer is. If you guess right you move forward 2 spaces, if someone picks your answer you move a space and if it's your turn and no-one guess the right answer you move 3 spaces (i think but i haven't played in a year).
My other favourite board game is Cluedo, i find it really fun and exciting and always beg visitors to play it with me, and i usually always win!

My personal favorite is Settlers of Catan. But if you poll the hardcore boardgame fans, it's a game called Puerto Rico (also a great game). We vote on these things over at boardgamegeek.com.

Axis and Allies. We've had games that lasted 10 hours or more. The only drawback is sometimes the board is too small. It needs to be double sized. When I was a kid, my favorite was King of the Cheese. My cousin had it. We'd play for hours.
