Any KISS show is a great performance! Pillars of fire, jumping on 7 inch heels, spitting blood, fireworks on stage, the originators of the rising drum set, speakers galore, flying people, smoke, breathing fire, blinding lights, driving and pounding rock anthems and an army of screaming and face painted fans... what else could you want?

Second up: Pink Floyd's The Wall tour. They built and tore down an actual wall (of large styrofoam bricks) on stage. The stage set was so big they could only play three cities in the world, but several nights for each city (London, LA, and New York). The reason it's second? It only played three cities.

1978--Frankfurt, Germany.
Kansas, Genesis, Scorpions (before they spoke/sang/recorded in English), Dylan, a fractured Fleetwood Mac, CSN without Y, Melanie, Joan Biaz, and many, many more mostly US bands and individual performers during a 24-hour per day-three-day concert. It was supposed to be kind of a German Woodstock.
