First off you have taken this quote way way out of context. (typical communist and democrat move) Washington was referring to the English and the eventual WAR with them for our FREEDOM. The English were offering the the American colonies SECURITY (for a price obviously) in exchange for not braking away from the crown or home land. What he meant was if you sold out to the English you would not have freedom or security.
