Some psychologist say that there is no actual reality -the only reality is your reaction to the situation.
For example, a person may be afraid of bears. That would be ok, if you are 5 feet from one in the woods.
If you are in a zoo, the bear is either in a cage or behind a waterfall in a sunken, secure area. Some people may have fear of a bear in the zoo, even if there is no chance that the bear can harm you.
I can write all kinds of examples that may show you that a person's reaction to a particular situation is more important than the situation, which is a situation that is subjective, as reality is subjective -what you make of it!

Actually reality can't be changed. It is the perception of what is real which is changed. Mind over matter is a powerful thing. For instance to not feel quilty over something a person needs to change their morals. There are people who actually change their reality to fit their lives. For example Sociopaths- change their reality for their own personal gain. Anyone with a mental illness doesn't have a clue of what is real and what isn't, unless they are treated with medication. A person who has Borderline Personalitly Disorder changes their realilty to fit their needs.
Therefore reality is changed two different ways...purely by choice. or Mental Illness. Then there are people who aren't clear about their own convictions - their change of their mind isn't so hard because they don't think for themself.
Some people avoid reality, others hit it head on.

Reality is. It just is. I cannot be changed, nor can it be tweeked. That being said, one's perception of the reality they're in can be altered in various ways:
First there's the glass half full /half empty school of thought.
Then, there's the thinking that everything one does affects out next move...but that changes the future's reality.
Finally, there's acid, PCP, Magic Mushrooms and other hallucenogenics (SP?). But I've come a long way to do any of that now.
I need an aspirin...got a headace from all this thinking.

Hmmm. Don't know nor understand why they would. Reality is the now, preference is things to "prefer". Would also depend if that person had other people in their life. That would be a very selfish move if they say, had a wife and kids, or an endearing girlfriend?

Habits are like an iron suit, difficult to get out. Rather than pay an organization to help you to change: heed the advice of the sages - Maimonides said that to change (slightly) in a direction you need to over-emphasize that direction to the extreme. But instant it will not be. So if you are rude, and want to become more polite, try to pretend you are an 17th century nobleman, so that everybody thinks you are overpolite -then eventually you can revert to normal politeness, i.e. you cannot attempt to change slightly.

you answered your own question. via your preferences...
I hated espresso the first time I tried it..but I was determined to drink it..now I can't live without it..your mind is malleable...make it believe what you like...repetition begats habit...
rote memorization is a powerful tool for altering your perceptions.
and perception is reality...
if everyone in a room believed a particular chair was blue except you...guess which color is would be defined as? because it is perceived as blue by the majority of viewers...
perception is reality...repeat that to yourself a few hundred times a day..and soon you will believe and understand the power in that statement...seems self-fulfilling doesn't it? that's because it is...

There's only one reality. You may only switch to your own little world, which is not real and limited. You may create your world, but you have a limited imagination. Reality, on the other hand, don't have any limits or barriers. So that brings a question, why to switch? Why limitize yourself?
